Hold the back page…

We were delighted with the reaction to the recent article which appeared in leading retail magazine ShelfLife.

Gillian Hamill interviewed Martin O’Brien about the recent Applegreen Motorway service stations project. They discussed how important design is on consumer behaviour and client spend. As proof of this, the reaction from consumers to the new Applegreen stores has already exceeded their expectations. To read the full article please click here.

Nissan Micra

Following on from the successful launch and roadshow for the Nissan Leaf we were asked to launch the new Nissan Micra. The launch involved the use of 3D projection on the actual vehicle, surrounding walls and floor. The panels on the vehicle changed colour, the wheels spun and the Micra floated amongst feathers. So how did we do it? To find out more, watch the video!

Applegreen Award

We were delighted with the news that Applegreen won the Insight/NACS 2010 International Convenience Retail Store of the Year Award in London for their flagship Applegreen Mount Merrion store. Joe Barrett from Applegreen was presented with the award. This award is highly sought after globally. Applegreen faced stiff international competition from around the world to win from 7-Eleven Australia and Pick n Pay South Africa to Rutters in the USA.

The Mount Merrion store was used to pilot a number of concepts which were then incorporated into the Applegreen Motorway Service Stations. The first of these has now opened in Lusk with Castlebellingham and Enfield due to open shortly. This project has been running for over 12 months with everybody in Exhibitinvolved at some stage but principally it was undertaken by Richie and Martin.

Cooking up a storm

We are delighted to have been appointed by ISS Facility Services to work on the design of the new wall graphics of the Hewlett Packard food court. The  facility is located in lush manicured landscape near Lucan, Co. Dublin. The scale of the operation is simply huge with seating in the restaurant for 750 people. The inspiration for the concept came from the exterior landscaping combined with a Café culture styling. The scheduled launch of the new food court is mid September.

Oh what a night!

On Wednesday 4th August we organised the European Launch of the Nissan Leaf at the Grand Canal Plaza. Over 2,000 people witnessed the event which included a 65m x 25m projection on the Checker Board building, lasers, light show, actors and the worlds first production electric car. The crowd loved it, Nissan are delighted and we’re chuffed.

But its only the start of a month long road show. We’re taking the Nissan Leaf on a spin around the country, keep an eye out for us.

Power to the people!

We’d love to tell you about what’s going on in the studio at the moment but we’re all sworn to secrecy. It’s very exciting to be working on a project that is so revolutionary in its thinking and application. All being well we will be bringing this to you in August. Stay tuned for more details.

Lounging about

A couple of months ago, Exhibit helped redesign and refit one of Dublin’s liveliest and trendiest bars. The Grafton Lounge is located on Duke Lane, just off Grafton Street. It offers comfy couches for lunch during the day, bar food and cocktails on the terrace in the evening, and live music and DJs by night.

We’re getting all growed up now…

It’s hard to believe that 20 years ago this summer, Martin O’Brien first opened the doors of Exhibit. At the time, the office was located in a back bedroom and consisted of a small drawing board, some markers and a kettle. The company has grown with a wonderful client base which has taken us to projects all over the world. We are all very proud of the new studio, things have certainly moved on and he still uses markers from time to time.

We’d be delighted to show you around…

Blooming good weekend!

Over the bank holiday weekend, Bloom took place in Phoenix Park. Bord Bia are one of the main sponsors of the event, and we designed and project managed The Quality Mark Kitchen for them. The place looked great in the lovely weather, and coupled with famous chefs such as Neven Maguire and Darina Allen, the Quality Mark Kitchen drew in big crowds to Bord Bia’s delight.
